go back to the doctor's office and get results. after all of that, you feel okay, right? >> but there is a lot you need to keep track of when it comes to your health, time is no excuse especially when it comes to getting many of your

so to start off, thank you for coming. >> thank you for having me. >> we are talking about screening but not something that replaces all of the doctor appointments? >> that is correct. it is an important point to
make. healthfest is finding out about how healthy you are, how to become more healthy and how to stay healthy. the screenings we are doing are pretty easy and were not in a clinical setting with a full laboratory they are.
it's always best at your annual appointment with her primary care physician. he or she knows you better than we do. they know exactly what you need to do to become a healthier person. we can get you pointed in the
right direction, but we want you to still visit your doctor, no question about it. >> and health fast gets bigger every year it seems like. >> it does. >> when did actually start? great question, we don't know. [laughter]
>> yeah, we are great at documenting things at the hospital. i can tell you the day we open the doors and when we did our first open heart surgery. i know when the robot came to the operating room, no idea when health fast started.
for some reason, never got documented. but the nurses who have been there longer than i have been there share with me they think it is 30 or 35 years, and i believe that. we started out very small at the hospital but like many
things, we outgrew. we went looking for a partner invented outstanding partner in the wicomico county board of education. so we were at parkside high school, then the old james m. bennett if you remember the old james m. bennett.
>> oh yeah. >> and then for a few more years of the wonderful new it has been a wonderful relationship. i am telling you, we can have a better partner than we do with the board of education, a great venue and partner.
>> so you mentioned a lot of different screenings, what, 35 of them? >> that's right, 35 throughout the day from 7:30 until 12:30 in the afternoon. typical stuff you would expect a healthcare, right? height, weight, body screening,
vision, bone density awareness, legs for life touchscreens, and also, our diabetes team is going to run a diabetes risk assessment. it is a paper test. found to be at high risk, but we will do is send you to the lab we have there and draw
blood for an a1c. we will get results back to you in a couple of weeks and let you know where you stand, so there are a lot of things going on, plenty to do, plenty of good and free screenings again to find out how healthy you are.
>> i know that when i do lab test and stuff, fasting and stuff like that, do i need >> none of our tests, nothing requires a fast. >> good. suggest health screenings? >> and we try to make this a family free event.
we want everybody to come out and have a good time. we have things to keep kids occupied. we have balloon animals, face painting, and believe it or not, an inflatable >>> a great investment in time? >> what you need to know is
