models of pride, coming here, it just let'sme know that there's other people like me and i can be myself, and i can where whateveri want, and feel whatever i want, and empower myself. i would have to say the people. thepeople are amazing here. it is just exciting to be here. i remember the first time i came to this conference years ago, and i am happy to see you all here so excited to help buildcommunities like that, to help change the world.

Louisiana State Department Of Education, i am really excited about the transrelationships workshop. dating is hard enough and then being trans on top of it makes it a lot harder. it provides a safe place for everyone in the lgbt community, and it informs too a lot, even for allies. you learn so much, it's...it's a good experience.

what brought me to the community was being an ally to others, and just helping them through like anything. that just really makes my day, just helping them. coming next year would be awesome. being at this conference is literally better than disneyland for me. to create resources for so many youth, and i'm one of them. i'm someone who definitely benefitted from all the people who dedicatedtheir time to the center to come here and really give us the opportunities that we so desperately need. i have a son, he's 17, he's transgender, and he came out a couple years ago, and twoyear's ago was my first models of pride.

and so i came as a parent, he came here as a participant. i just learned so much. my son is now fully himself. having a program like this when iwas 14 years old and trying to figure out how to come out to my parents who are verysuper religious, and i grew up in the bible belt of texas, something like this would havebeen very helpful for me. i grew up as a little girly boy in oklahoma, and it means so much to me to be able to come and offer those kinds of resources and information and advice to these youth, because i would have loved to have had this when i was little. for me, just seeing all of these faces and the diversity

amongst them is such a beautiful thing. it's indicative of what the future is gonna look like, which is awesome. models of pride ishelping people really find their voice and realize that it's okay, and helping them learn how to deal with this next beautiful chapter of their lives. even though the world is amuch more accepting place, if your world is not accepting, coming out is just as hard today as it was 20 years ago. while that is still in existence, there is going to be a need for models of pride. models of pride!
